Dr. Shealee (Hodge) Allen was born and raised in the great city of Amarillo. She attended Randall high school and graduated in 2014. Following high school, Dr. Allen attended West Texas A&M University where she met her husband, Trent Allen (also an Amarillo and Randall native). In 2023, Dr. Allen completed her dental education at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, where she was awarded the ethics and integrity and restorative dentistry awards.
Dr. Allen crossed paths with dentistry her senior year of high school. Originally she wanted to attend medical school to become an ENT, but there were not any shadowing opportunities for high school students in Amarillo. Dr. Allen is a long-time patient of Dr. Brady’s, and at a routine cleaning he was inquiring about her plans post high-school. After explaining the situation with her internship program, Dr. Brady offered to let her shadow in the office if she wanted. Dr. Allen had no interest in dentistry at the time, but agreed to shadow solely to not have to drop the internship program.
Well, as you can see, the rest is history!
After working at Brady Dental through her time at WTAMU, it has always been Dr. Allen’s dream to come home and practice with this wonderful team.
Dr. Allen is passionate about serving her patients, knowing that dental care can truly be life-changing. She has a specific heart for dental missions. As a believer in Jesus, she loves the opportunities given to serve someone not only by addressing their dental needs, but by reminding them how much their Creator loves them. It is her goal to extend her services outside of the dental office, and even outside the United States throughout her career.
Trent and Shealee married in 2017 and welcomed their first baby girl, Adelynn, in 2022- Shealee’s fourth year of dental school. 7 months later, right before the completion of dental school, they found out they were expecting their second baby in December of 2023!
In their spare time, the Allens love to fellowship with family and friends by playing games, enjoying a meal together, and getting away for family adventures. Outdoor activities are their favorite way to pass the time, and they cannot wait to create memories with their growing family. The mountains and the Texas Panhandle are their most favorite haven!
Dr. Allen is excited to be able to give back to the members of the community she grew up in. She would love to meet all members of your family and looks forward to being a part in addressing your oral care needs.
